Glorious food!

Too crazy-busy to blog, but ever a NY Times junkie, foodie, and connoisseur of the good life, I'll crib this article on the 11 Best Foods You Aren't Eating, and just say that I have particular affection for beets, though not for sardines, and I'd probably get a B+ on the rest.

  1. You know, when I was picking up treats at the UK goodies shop, I specifically got some beetroot because it made me think of you. :-) I have *no* reason to think that British beetroot is any different to American, so it was a shameful encouragement of unnecessary international commerce (like buying cut flowers from South America), but there it is...

  2. How nice. :-)
BTW - There is a British foods section at my Safeway.
And Holland is (one of) the biggest exporter of cut flowers, I think. I've always wanted to do this

And if memory serves, Tanzania exports flowers to Europe. It is all sort of crazy.

  3. Lucky you! Some Safeways have them, though for no reason I can get, almost *all* Giant stores have them. And, or course, as I realised shopping with the grrlz, Indian groceries are going to have some British foods (like PG Tips, Horlicks, and McVities), even if some of them are actually manufactured under license in India (British food, made in India, and shipped to the US--how's that for crazy?).
